The Trust gave $14,486 in 2009 to 23 nonprofit organizations in CPI's service area

  • Alsea Food Bank and Alsea Gleaners for food purchases
  • Arts in the Park for a summer youth activities program
  • Benton Furniture Share for its Beds for Kids campaign
  • Blodgett-Summit Fire Dept. for two saws to get people our of damaged cars and two water pumps
  • Coastal Range Food Bank for food purchases.
  • Dial a Bus for new hats for volunteer drivers.
  • Friends of Albany Public Library for new furniture for young adult reading area
  • Friends of Family Ministries toward meals for parenting classes
  • Idanha-Detroit Rural Fire District for added paramedic support in summer
  • Kairos Consumer Council toward newsletter printing
  • Kings Valley Area Assoc. for new lighting in community center
  • Lebanon Emergency Shelter toward lawn mower purchase.
  • Lebanon Soup Kitchen for food purchases
  • Linn County Sherriff to provide Internet safety training for 6th and 7th graders
  • Lourdes Public Charter School for new software for weather station.
  • Lunch with Santa to provide holiday program for low-income youth
  • Marine Corps Family Foundation for purchase of Christmas gifts and supplies for overseas troops.
  • North Santiam Gleaners toward food purchases.
  • Operation Home Front to provide emergency financial assistance for area military families
  • Philomath Community Services for fencing a new community garden
  • Philomath High School to replace worn carpeting in music/choir room
  • Senior Dog Rescue towards medical supplies
  • TIP of Linn County for purchase of laptop and projector for speaking engagements

The total given since the program began at CPI in 1993 is $225,192.
CPI customers and employees fund the Charitable Trust by voluntarily rounding up their monthly electric bills and through payroll deductions.

A nine-member volunteer committee of CPI members administers the funds.
